About Us

Two decades of dependable cross-border freight.

Founded in 2001 by Jean-Hugues Pelletier and joined in 2004 by partner Érick Brodeur, Transport SouthBec Express has grown from a regional Quebec carrier into a trusted cross-border logistics partner. In 2014 we relocated our terminal to Bedford, Quebec — minutes from the U.S. border — and launched our refrigerated division.

Today our team moves temperature-controlled food, manufactured goods, building materials and oversized loads between Canadian and American shippers every single day.

  • Bilingual (EN/FR) dispatch available 7 days a week
  • FAST/C-TPAT compliant, fully bonded carrier
  • Modern fleet averaging under 4 years of service
  • 24/7 GPS tracking and proactive notifications

Why Choose SouthBec

The qualities your supply chain depends on.

On-Time, Every Time

Fully Compliant

C-TPAT, PIP and FAST certified. ELD compliant. SCAC code on file. Bonded for in-bond cargo.

Family-Run, Driver-First

Independent and family-owned — decisions are made by people who answer the phone, not a head office overseas.

Real-Time Visibility

Live GPS, geofence alerts and proactive ETA updates — you'll know where your load is before you ask.

Modern, Efficient Fleet

Newer trucks mean fewer breakdowns, lower emissions and a better ride for the people moving your freight.

Bilingual Team

French and English from dispatch to billing — a real advantage when you're moving freight between Quebec and the U.S.

"We've been shipping refrigerated produce into the U.S. with SouthBec for almost a decade. They pick up on time, they cross the border on time, and they pick up the phone. That's rare these days."

— Marc Lavallée, Logistics Manager, Quebec Fresh Foods

"SouthBec handles our flatbed runs from Ontario into the northeast. Their drivers are professional, the equipment is clean, and the paperwork is always right. Highly recommended."

— Jennifer Walsh, Operations Director, Northeast Building Supplies

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

What lanes do you cover?

We operate primarily between Quebec, Ontario and the eastern United States — from New England down through the mid-Atlantic and into the Midwest. We also handle reefer runs as far south as Florida and Texas on a regular basis.

Are you certified for cross-border freight?

Yes. We are FAST-approved, C-TPAT certified and a member of the Partners in Protection (PIP) program. We are also bonded for in-bond cargo and PARS/PAPS capable.

Can I track my shipment?

Absolutely. Every tractor and reefer is GPS-equipped and our dispatch team provides live status updates, ETAs and proactive notifications if anything changes en route.

What temperature ranges can you handle?

Our reefer trailers handle anything from frozen (-20°C) to fresh produce (+2°C to +10°C). Continuous temperature logging is available on request for every shipment.

How do I request a quote?

Use the contact form below, send your lane and commodity details to [email protected], or call us directly during business hours. Most quotes are returned the same day.
